Martindale Abrasion Tester

TESTRON TT-MART0004 Martindale Abrasion Tester is designed for multiple abrasion and pilling tests for various textiles. Its touch screen controller has most common functions that makes the equipment easy to us in just one or two touches. The unit is wear-resistant testing machine mainly composed of test sample clamping device, friction head and a wear measurement device.

During test, the sample is clamped on the machine, touching the friction head or wear medium and a certain force and speed will be applied to conduct the wear test. By recording the weight loss and wear volume data during the wear process, the wear resistance of the sample can be evaluated. The machine can be also used to test the dirty condition of light-colored materials. In such tests, a special ink-printed fabric is used instead of the standard. A small amount of standard abrasive cloth is supplied with the machine.
