- Silver flake corrosion cuvettes, in line with SH/T0023 “Jet Fuel Silver Flake Corrosion Test Act”, ASTM D3241 / IP323, ASTM D1660 and other standards. Used to assess the corrosion propensity of jet fuel to silver components of aircraft turbine engine fuel systems. The silver sheet corrosion cuvettes are copied from full-color processing and consist of 5 typical test silver sheets representing the tarnished surface and the degree of increased corrosion. For protection, these corroded standard swatches are embedded in plastic plates. Instructions for corroding the standard swatches are given in the packaging of each standard Swatch. To avoid possible fading of the swatch, corroded standard swatches should be stored away from light.
- Colorimetric description
- 0 is no discoloration: except for a slight tarnishing in parts, it is almost the same as a newly polished silver sheet
- 1 is a mild discoloration: light brown or silvery-white fade;
- 2 is medium discoloration: peacock screen color, such as blue or purple red or medium and deep wheat yellow or brown;
- 3 is mild blackening: black or gray spots and patches on the surface, or a uniform black deposition film;
- 4 for blackening: uniform depth blackening, with or without peeling phenomenon
