TT-BTT100 Brittleness Temperature Tester

TESTRON TT-BTT100 is used to determine the brittleness characteristics of wire jackets and vulcanized rubber during low-temperature testing. After the sample is fixed onto the test device and soaked in a low-temperature medium for 5 minutes, it is impacted by the impact head at a linear speed of 2 ± 0.2 m/s. The sample is then checked for cracks, crevices, small holes, and fragments at the lowest temperature.

Working Principle of TT-BTT100 Brittleness Temperature Tester

The tester adopts a two-stage compressor to rapidly reduce the temperature, reaching a minimum temperature of -70°C. Liquid nitrogen can be added to the heat exchanger for testing below -70°C, with the lowest temperature reaching -120°C. The temperature is highly controllable.

The liquid heat transfer medium in the low-temperature tank can be stirred by the stirring motor to achieve a more uniform temperature. Four samples can be tested simultaneously. Automatic rotary locating fixtures impact each group of samples and determine the lowest temperature at which brittle failure occurs.
