PET Intrinsic viscosity (IV) Measuring Device

Intrinsic Viscosity (IV) Tester For Pet bottle testing

The TESTON IVS series is a unique Intrinsic Viscosity Measuring Device designed for fast and safe IV measurement. It is designed according to ISO, ASTM, DIN, and GB standards.

The PET Intrinsic Viscosity Tester can directly calculate Intrinsic Viscosity of (polyethylene terephthalate) PET preform, granules, flakes and powder.

TESTRON IVS series key features:

  • On-line automatic cleaning instead of manual cleaning.
  • Avoid touching chemical reagent to ensure the safety of testing personnel.
  • No need to disassemble Ubbelohde viscometer to avoid man-made damage.
  • It directly calculates Kinematic Viscosity, Dynamic Viscosity, Relative Viscosity, Viscosity Ratio, DP (degree of polymerization) and Intrinsic Viscosity, Viscosity-average Molecular weight and etc.
  • All viscosity design formulas in the system; testing personnel can use them conveniently.
  • With data statistics function, can analyze variation trend of the samples. Provide the basis data for controlling the quality of your products.
  • Can complete serial Trend-extrapolation way easily.

It takes about 4 steps for the PET Intrinsic viscosity measuring.

  • Sample preparation: Prepare the solvent and sample by weighing on balance)
  • PS: If the samples are preforms, place under liquid nitrogen then crush it into powder.
  • Mix the sample with solvent and then place it in the sample dissolver.
  • Pour the dissolved sample into the viscometer and start measuring.
  • Wash the tubes after test.
